Soft-I/O, the innovative input/output system manufactured by Xio, Inc. has been approved by a major diversified manufacturing company for use in its nuclear reactor services business.
"Our customer has completed a massive 21-day test with flying colors," reports Mario Lento, Director of Business Development for Xio. "The test plan alone was 70 pages!" Lento continued. "Each system has six Soft-I/O modules performing a number of input/output tasks from simple pushbuttons and lights to some high-tech strain gauges that need to be demodulated over long cables."
"We are heartened by this major customer approval," said Chairman Paul Sagues. "It's one thing to offer innovative I/O technology and an entirely different thing to be approved for use by one of the world's largest companies in a very challenging application. This is the coveted 'pedigree' that separates a board-based offering from a true factory automation component. The heritage of Xio is industrial automation, and this is a major gold star approval."
"We are excited going into 2012 because we are readying one of the most significant offerings in the automation business," concluded Lento. "Wrapping up this major approval paves the way for our newest offerings."

San Anselmo, California, April 7, 2011
Xio, Inc., the manufacturer of the innovative controls product Soft-I/O® today announced that it has moved its operations to a larger facility.
"Our old location simply could not handle the number of people working here. Not only have we increased our software development staff, but our manufacturing and sales groups were making the old facility too tight," said Mauritz Botha, VP of Engineering for the Company. "We are still in San Anselmo, but in a much larger facility."
Xio's new facility at 305 San Anselmo Avenue is more than twice as large as its previous location.
"I am thrilled to be able to be around these talented engineers without literally being on top of them!" said Mario Lento, Director of Business Development for Xio. "We needed more room, and we now have it. Now I love to bring customers in to see what Soft-I/O can do for them."

Xio today announces the issuance of its latest patent on Soft-I/O technology.
“Our legal and licensing firms have informed us that we now have more than 30 active patents on Soft-I/O pending or issued around the world,” said John Pitcairn, CFO of Xio, Inc. “We continue to invest heavily in protecting the unique Intellectual Property that makes up Soft-I/O,” Pitcairn added.
The latest U.S. Patent, 7,822,896 made its way through the U.S. Patent process to join other issued U.S. Patents.
“Soft-I/O is a disruptive product that is like no other in the world. We are solving control problems in a new and efficient manner.” said Paul Sagues, Chairman of Xio, Inc. “I don’t doubt that other companies are scrambling to figure out what Soft-I/O is all about,” said Sagues, “But they are finding a growing list of patented features constituting Soft-I/O that makes it difficult to copy the innovations. We are happy to see all the hard work begin to pay off for us,” concluded Sagues.

XiO today announces the release of its highest performance Soft-I/O module ever, the Model 103.
"There is a lot new in Soft-I/O Model 103," said XiO VP of Engineering Mauritz Botha. "But the part that has us excited is the new small signal performance. Soft-I/O sets the bar very high in the input/output industry with its ability to handle power to a 10 Watt contactor on the same pins that can be used to measure temperature with a thermocouple and resolve microvolts," he said.
"When the engineers at XiO invented Soft-I/O, there were skeptics who said that building a single part number product to do input, output and perform control across the broad landscape of tens of thousands of sensors and actuators was impossible. Soft-I/O model 103 makes a strong statement."
Soft-I/O Model 103 is in stock and ready to ship to leading machine builders and automation providers.
